The Marian Missionaries of The Holy Cross will be here in our Parish next weekend!
The Marian Missionaries of the Holy Cross (MMHC) is a religious congregation of priests and brothers founded in the Philippines.
The MMHC is composed of priests and brothers who pursue priestly studies while engaged in the apostolate to the youth in the public high schools and the prisoners in the National, Regional and Local Penitentiaries where there is an MMHC community.
The MMHC was recognized in the 1990 as a Pious Association. On October 27, 1997, the MMHC was established as a religious congregation of Diocesan Right. At present, the MMHC is serving nine (9) Archdioceses and Diocese of Chiayi, Taiwan and here in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, where we are administering the Holy Family Parish in Artesia and St. John of God Parish in Norwalk. Likewise, we have also the prison ministry in the Federal Correctional Institution, Terminal Island in San Pedro and in the Metropolitan Detention Center in Los Angeles by providing weekly Sunday Masses, Confessions and catechism.
The MMHC is animated by a life prayer and penance in the spirit of love and joy in close imitation of the lifestyle of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Our mission is to reawaken the consciences of men and to bring the youth closer to the foot of the Cross. This is actualized by catechetical and moral values formation in the public high schools in the Philippines and the prisons.
Some priests of our congregation will be in your parish to share with you our stories and mission. Hope you will be able to support through your prayers and financial help as to continue the formation of our seminarians and our apostolate. Thank you.
