ENVIADOS EN MISIÓN

A la mayoría de nosotros, seguramente Dios no nos hablará de maneras extraordinarias, con revelaciones asombrosas o por medio de visiones; pero no hay duda de que Dios siempre habla y habla allí donde estemos. Isaías estaba en el templo y allí experimentó la presencia de Dios. Simón estaba en su barca y fue allí donde escuchó la llamada de Jesús a seguirle. ¿Cuántos de nosotros no hemos estado alguna vez contemplando un paisaje maravilloso, los primeros pasos de un bebé o a nuestros seres queridos, y no hemos sentido de manera extraordinariamente fuerte la presencia de Dios? Lo mismo nos puede ocurrir en cada uno de los momentos de nuestra vida en que se nos presenta una encrucijada en la que debemos tomar una decisión que puede afectarnos a nosotros mismos, nuestras familias, nuestros seres queridos o nuestros compañeros. Ahí, frecuentemente, está la voz de Dios; y la voz de Dios llama siempre a seguir su camino. Para algunos, esta llamada puede ser a constituir una familia cristiana y a trabajar honradamente, buscando siempre la verdad y la justicia en todo. Podría ser una llamada a vivir el sacramento del matrimonio escuchando conjuntamente la voz de Dios. También podría ser una llamada a optar exclusivamente por el servicio a Dios desde el sacerdocio, la vida religiosa o el compromiso total con la misión desde la vida soltera. Dios llama de diversas maneras y a diversos caminos, pero siempre llama. Lo importante es descubrir a qué nos llama a cada uno de nosotros: ¿dónde encontramos más frecuentemente la presencia de Dios? ¿Qué nos apasiona? ¿Dónde podemos encontrar la felicidad verdadera? ¿Qué nos da paz? ¿Qué nos desafía más allá de lo que pensábamos que podíamos hacer? ¿Qué estamos llamados a dejar atrás para alcanzar aquello a lo que Dios nos llama?

SENT ON MISSION

God surely does not speak in extraordinary ways, with astonishing revelations or through visions, to the great majority of us; but there is no doubt that God always speaks to us right where we are. Isaiah was in the temple when he experienced the presence of God. Simon was in his boat when he heard the calling from Jesus to follow. How many of us have contemplated a beautiful scenery or witnessed the first steps of a baby or our loved-ones and felt the presence of God in an extraordinarily powerful manner? The same can occur during those moments in our life when we reach a crossroad where the decision we make can affect us, our family, loved-ones, and companions. It is here where we frequently hear the voice of God; and the voice of God always calls us to follow his path. For some, this calling may be to build a Christian family and to work earnestly in our jobs and professions, seeking honesty, truth, and justice in everything we do. It could be a calling to live the sacrament of marriage, listening to the voice of God together; or to serve God exclusively from the priesthood and religious life or a complete commitment with the mission from the single life. God calls us in diverse ways and paths, but he always calls. The important thing is to discover where he is calling us to: where do we frequently encounter the presence of God? What are we passionate about? Where can we find true happiness? What gives us peace? What challenges us beyond what we thought we could do? What are we called to leave behind in order to achieve what Gods is calling us to do?
