Two Birds With One Stone?

The SOLEMNITY OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION of the MOST BLESSED VIRGIN MARY, besides being a HOLY DAY OF OBLIGATION 9a day to attend holy mass), is THE PATRONAL FEAST OF the United States.

Since December 8th falls on a Sunday this year, THE SOLEMNITY OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION OF THE MOST BLESSED VIRGIN MARY is transferred to Monday, December 9th and for this reason the obligation to attend holy mass is dispensed. In other words, those who not attend holy mass this year on this Solemnity WILL NOT incur mortal sin.

Here at Saint Rose of Lima, ON Monday, December 9th, we will have three masses; at 8:00 am in English, at 5:00 pm in Spanish and at 7:00 pm in Spanish. You are encouraged to attend Holy Mass and CELEBRATE THE PATRONAL  FEAST of our grat nation.

La SOLEMNIDAD DE LA INMACULADA CONCEPCIÓn de La SANTÍSIMA VIRGEN MARIA, además de ser un DIA DE PRECEPTO (día de asistir a la santa misa), es la FIESTA PATRONAL de los Estados Unidos de Norte América.

En este año 2019, como el 8 de diciembre cae en domingo, la SOLMNIDAD DE LA IMMACULADA CONCEPCIÓN de la Santisima Virgen Maria es transferida al día Lunes, 9 de dicimbre y por esta razón el precepto de asistir a la santa misa es dispensado; o sea que, este año, los que NO asistan a misa en esta SOLEMNIDAD, NO incurrirán en pecado mortal.

Aquí en Santa Rosa de Lima el Lunes, 9 de diciembre tendremos tres misas; a las 8:00 am en ínglés, a las 5pm y 7pm en español. Le invitamos asistir a la santa misa y CELEBRAR LA FIESTA PATRONAL de nuestra gran nación.
